Style of Worship

INVITING.

EDIFYING.

SIMPLE.

At Korean Harvest Church, everything is dedicated to the glory of Christ. Music is generally taken from hymns with a mix of modern-day classics, raising passionate, intentional, and theological worship to the Lord. Discover an incredibly friendly group of believers that welcomes you like family and praises the Lord as one unified body.

There is no "dress code" but we as a church family welcome everybody to come and bring their "Sunday best," whatever that may be. The most important thing here is that we spend time and come together to praise our Savior.

We strongly recommend the King James Version as you will discover that it is utilized in all of our teachings, activities, and programs.

We welcome you with open arms and would love to see you here! Come be a part of a family that aims to glorify Jesus Christ and lifts one another up in a joint pursuit to spread the gospel.

What We Believe

Below you will find a summary of our core beliefs. This is by no means a full and complete list of everything we believe. Come find out more about our walk with Christ and feel free to reach out with any questions you may have. We would be happy to address them with you!

GOD

We believe in the one and only true God of the Bible (Exodus 20:2-3; 1 Corinthians 8:6). His very nature is immutable and holds unlimited and eternal authority, wisdom, righteousness, justice, and truth (John 4:24, Revelations 4:11), being the One who creates and judges all things (Genesis 1:1; John 1:3; Colossians 1:15-16).

We believe that this one God exists as the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, also known as the "three distinct personalities" or the Trinity
(Matthew 28:18-19; John 1:14; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Hebrews 1:1-3; 1 John 5:7-8). All three personalities are one God and have the exact same nature, attributes, and perfection (Mark 12:29; Acts 5:3-4; Revelations 1:4-6).

JESUS CHRIST

We believe that Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God, who came into this world to reveal God to the people, fulfill prophecies, and become the Savior to people who were lost (Genesis 3:15; Isaiah 7:14). Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Ghost through miracles and born to virgin Mary (Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:35). Additionally, Jesus Christ both completely God and completely man (John 1:14, 18; Hebrews 4:15).

Jesus Christ loved the souls of the lost, accepting His Father's will and offered himself as the Holy sacrifice, removing the consequences of sin all at once with His blood
(John 1:29). He has become the eternal sacrifice for all the people of the world by bearing alone the God's righteous judgment of sin (Romans 3:25-26; 1 Peter 3:18; 2 Corinthians 5:14; Hebrews 10:5-14).

HOLY GHOST

We believe that the Holy Ghost has the same holy identity as God the Father and God the Son, being part of creation and possessing the same nature as both of them(Genesis 1: 1-3). The Holy Ghost has lived and lives in all believers since the Pentecost, according to God's promise. The Holy Ghost is the source of all powers and true worship and service take place only in Him. He never leaves the church and never ignores even the weakest amongst believers (John 14:16-17; 16:7; 1 Corinthians 6:19; Ephesians 2:22). The Holy Spirit testifies only of Jesus, not Himself.

SATAN AND THE DEVIL

We believe that God has created countless spiritual beings like angels. One of them, "Lucifer, the Son of the Morning," was at the highest position before God but became Satan through his sin because of his arrogance (Psalm 14:12-17; Ezekiel 28:11-19). When Lucifer became corrupted, many groups of angels followed him and became demons, joining him in achieving his evil cause. Meanwhile, fallen angels (Sons of God) who escaped from their ranks and took women to produce giants in the Noah era are bound by an everlasting chain, remaining in darkness until judgment (2 Peter 2:4; Jude 6).

CREATION OF THE UNIVERSE

We believe in the story of Creation in the Bible as literal and real history (Genesis 1-2; Colossians 1:16-17; Revelations 1:3). God did not create all things in the universe through the process of evolution, but rather created all things in the universe by Himself in those six days using the 24 hour day we have today (Genesis 1:5, 8, 13, 19, 23, 31). We also believe that God's creation of the Earth and the universe took place about 6,000 years ago as recorded in the Bible.

THE BIBLE

We believe that God inspired and preserved the original Bible records with unprecedented protection and providence and that we must translate them accurately to worship God properly so that he can receive them. We believe that the English King James Bible is the word of God, which has been translated into the popular language of the English world and has been the most printed and most widely distributed in the world for more than 400 years since its publication in 1611, being the basis of faith confessions of most Protestant churches, including Baptist churches. We also believe that the King James Version is a Bible that is faithfully translated into Korean from English and is sufficient for worshipping and glorifying God properly. Therefore, we use the Korean and English King James Version Bibles to read, study, and preach in our church.

SALVATION, REBIRTH, AND SANCTIFICATION

We believe that the salvation of sinners comes from God and is through the ministry of Jesus Christ, the son of eternal God. Jesus Christ fully satisfied God's holy and righteous demands for sin by His blood and death (Leviticus 7:11; 1 Peter 1:18-19).

We believe that no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born again. Actions, morals, or observance of the rules in this world cannot help sinners go to Heaven whatsoever
(Acts 64:6; John 3:5, 18; Galatians 6:15; Philippians 3:4-9). When a person is saved, a new nature is given from above, or in other words, a new life is instilled by the Holy Ghost (John 3:16; Acts 15:11; 1 Peter 1:23; Ephesians 2:8-9).

Regardless of one's actions, spiritual rebirth stems only from faith in Jesus Christ
(John 1:12; 3:16, 18, 36; 5:24; 6:29; Acts 13:39; 16:31; Romans 1:16-17; 3:22, 24-26; 4:5; 10:4; Galatians 3:22). Repentance towards God is absolutely necessary to obtain such faith, but is not in itself a condition of salvation. Out of His love and mercy for mankind, God has provided a path to salvation for all the people of the world. Salvation is guaranteed forever to those who are reborn in Jesus Christ through faith and grace, regardless of their past actions.

We believe that spiritual rebirth is an instant occurrence that happens only once in a lifetime, but after that, starts a process of lifelong sanctification that glorifies God within that individual's life. As children of the one and only living God, we believe that we must live a righteous life as He is righteous.

THE CHURCH

We believe that the church was conceived during Jesus' ministry and began on the first Pentecost after His ascension (Acts 2:1). The members of the New Testament church, which is the body of the Lord, are members of God's family and are one regardless of time and place, denomination and race (1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Ephesians 1:22-23; 3:1-6; 4:11; 5:23; Colossians 1:18; Acts 15:13-18).

We believe that the local church is comprised of baptized believers and is an organization of the promise of faith and the companionship of the Gospel. The local church complies with the ordinances of Jesus Christ and exercises the gifts and privileges given to them in the Word
(1 Corinthians 11:2; Acts 2:41-42; 20:17-28). Additionally, the local church must include a pastor and a deacon as the only two offices whose qualifications, requirements, and obligations are clearly stated in the Bible (1 Timothy 3:1-13; Titus 1:5-11).

We believe that baptism and observance of the Lord's Supper are the only two ordinances given to the local church. Baptism is a sacred and magnificent expression of the gospel that displays a believer's death from sin and ascension into new life through Him, just as Jesus Christ died, was buried, and ascended
(Matthew 3:16; 28:18-20; John 3:23; Acts 8:36-39; Romans 6:3-5; Colossians 2:12). We believe that baptism by full immersion is the only form of Biblical baptism. Additionally, the Lord's Supper is meant to recognize and celebrate the death of Jesus Christ until He returns (Acts 2:41-42; 1 Corinthians 11:23, 28), but the ordinance itself is not a particular requirement of salvation.

The local church rejects the class system of any individual or group and has complete independent autonomy. Members of Korean Harvest Church cannot sue one another in secular courts with the exception of obvious infractions to the laws of the world – i.e. defamation, embezzlement, fraud, etc.
(1 Corinthians 6:1). The real mission of the church is not to conduct collective social activities but to testify of Jesus Christ to everyone at every possible opportunity (Romans 15:26).

GOVERNMENT

We believe that civil government is a God-designed institution for the public good and order of human society (Exodus 18:21-22). The death penalty is one of the characteristics of civil government (Exodus 9:6; Romans 13:3-4). We must pray for our administrators and we must respect those in positions of authority and conform to the laws of our government, as long as it does not violate the will of Jesus Christ, the master of our conscience. We believe that the free democracy/free market economy is a system that God rejoices in as a result of the Protestant Reformation.

RAPTURE AND ADVENT

We believe in the rapture that Jesus Christ will come through the sky and bring together living believers and those asleep within Christ (John 14:1-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:16, 18; 1 Corinthians 15:42-44, 51-54). While we believe that the rapture will occur before the start of the Millennium Kingdom and before the Seven-Year Tribulation (Revelations 3:10), it can happen immediately at any time in our lives without any notice.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ will come back to the earth with power and great glory after the end of the Seven-Year Tribulation
(Daniel 9:2527; Matthew 24:29-31; 24:15-25:46; Acts 1:9-11; 15:16-17). Jesus Christ will be seated on David's throne, and word for word as the Bible states, will build His kingdom for one thousand years, tying Satan down in the Abyss.

ETERNAL LIFE

We believe that when a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ dies, their spirit and soul will immediately go to Heaven where the Lord resides, and will live there in all His blessings until they wear the body of resurrection (Luke 23:42; 2 Corinthians 5:8; Philippians 1:23). When Jesus Christ returns, their body will be resurrected and unify with their spirit and soul, forever enjoying the glory and blessings of Heaven with Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:51-57). On the other hand, when a non-believer dies, their spirit and soul will suffer relentless pain and misery in hell until the end of the Millennium Kingdom and the white throne of judgment will appear to hand down the final sentence (Luke 16:19-26; Revelations 20:11-15). When this throne appears, their body will resurrect and be thrown into the place of eternal punishment described as The Lake of Fire (Revelations 20:11-15). These sinners will never be given a second chance and will be separated from the Lord's presence and power, forever subjected to eternal ruin (2 Thessalonians 1:7-9; Jude 6-7).
